Youth & the Official Plan

The City of Barrie is growing and we need your help to create a vision for our future. As Barrie’s youngest citizens, your ideas will help make Barrie a better place for you, your family and friends to live in for years to come.

What you tell us will help the City create a vision for future Barrie: how the buildings will look, how we will get around and where we will work, connect and play.

Youth: Engagement opportunities are now closed

All youth feedback was collected until February 17, 2019, including:

• Youth Workbook: Digital workbook and/or paper workbook.
• Map Your Barrie: Map Your Barrie tool allowed for location 'pin' dropping to share what you like, what you don't like and what's missing in Barrie.
• Future Barrie surveys: Two surveys collected feedback about Barrie's future and youth:
  • The Your Future survey collected youth thoughts about their future in Barrie.
  • In a Snapshot survey compared photos of areas in Barrie now with images of how it could look and collected information about what youth liked about each image.

Youth (age 4-24) who have participated in any engagement opportunity listed above will be entered to win one of three prize packs. Winners will be contacted when the contest is completed.

While residents of all ages are welcome to complete the youth activities, the draw is limited to youth participants (age 24 and under). Thank you for your understanding.
