Following several amendments to the proposed 2024 Business Plan and Budget, Council approved the City’s portion of the 2024 Budget on December 6, 2023 and the City's Service Partner Budgets on January 31, 2024. Feedback was solicited through two online surveys and a statistically valid phone survey conducted by Oraclepoll Research.

The online surveys closed with a total of 660 submissions (513 submissions to the City Operations Survey and 174 submissions to the Service Partners Survey). On each service area, respondents could increase spending by 5%, maintain current spending, or decrease spending by 5%. Overall trends in the data show the most popular selection for most service areas was to “Maintain current spending”. The exception was the Barrie Police Service where the most popular selection was to “Increase spending 5%”.

Full results and comments are included in the 2024 Business Plan and Budget staff report.
